25 Fully Funded Scholarships for International Students

Not all scholarships are the same. Some scholarships are waived in the form of tuition only, others only cover living expenses while others offer a partial cash grant, but there are scholarship programs that cover both tuition expenses and living expenses, and sometimes they also include travel allowance, insurance, etc. Fully funded scholarships for international students offer most, if not all, of what you need to continue your studies abroad.

Please note that full scholarships for international students in this list refer to scholarships that cover at least tuition and living expenses.

Fully Funded Government Scholarships for International Students

Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program (USA)

The Fulbright International Student Program is a prestigious scholarship for foreign students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in the United States. Typically, the scholarship covers tuition, airfare, living allowance, and health insurance. The Fulbright scholarship program covers the entire duration of the duration.

British Chevening Scholarships (United Kingdom)

The Chevening Scholarship is a UK Government’s global fellowship scheme that is awarded to outstanding researchers with leadership potential. The scholarship usually refers to a one-year master’s degree. They scholarship covers the following: tuition fees, a daily allowance at a fixed rate (for one person), Economy Class return flight to the UK, as well as additional grants to cover essential expenses.

Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships (Switzerland)

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships offer graduates of all disciplines the opportunity to do a doctorate or do research at one of the public universities or recognized institutions in Switzerland. The scholarship includes a monthly stipend, tuition, health insurance, housing allowance, etc.

Swedish Scholarships for International Students (Sweden)

VLIR-UOS Training and Masters Scholarships (Belgium)

University of Sydney International Scholarships (Australia)

University of Maastricht High Potential Scholarships (Netherlands)

University of British Columbia International Leader of Tomorrow Award (Canada)

The University of British Columbia (UBC) awards undergraduate scholarships to talented international students from high schools and universities around the world. Winners of the International Leader of Tomorrow award receive a level of award equal to their financial need, which is the cost of their tuition, fees, and living expenses, minus the financial contribution the student and family can make each year to these costs.

University of Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program (Canada)

The Rotary Foundation awards scholarships through The Rotary Foundation Global Grant Scholarships. The scholarship funds postgraduate courses or research work for 1 to 4 academic years. The global scholarship covers: tuition, passport/visa fees, immunizations, travel expenses, school supplies, accommodation, etc.

OFID Scholarship Award

OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) awards qualified applicants a fully-funded scholarship to pursue a master’s degree at an accredited university anywhere in the world. Scholarships worth up to $50,000 cover tuition, monthly living allowances, housing, insurance, books, relocation grants, and travel expenses.
